Insul-Stud is a remarkable innovation in energy efficient homes. With the adoption of the 2021 IRC Energy code in Maryland and the District of Columbia, new homes in our area will soon have to comply with the “continuous insulation” requirement. The International Energy Code Council enacted this new requirement to combat the real energy loss due to “thermal bridging.”

BIM Modeling - Firstly, we use a cutting edge 3D modeling software to design our homes. By laying out the project in a 3D environment, we are able to seamlessly integrate each separate system that goes into making the house, from structural building components to HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and plumbing. This removes the necessity of post-build modifications that could harm the structural integrity and the look and feel of the home, and makes our houses a single, unified structure.

The production of component-based building systems, also known as “offsite building,”, is the latest frontier in building development innovation. Dedicated manufacturing space in an off-site factory allows builders to dramatically reduce materials needed onsite, utilizing a far higher percentage of construction materials more efficiently. This procedure not only reduces the quantity and therefore the cost of materials needed to complete the project, but also allows the builder and his client to select the highest quality materials for use in construction without fear of waste.
